The Trash Mob is a Village Neighborhood Association born initiative designed to eliminate litter through community engagement. Think of it as the “gamification of garbage”. It’s a neighborhood beautification initiative with rewards that can not only be seen in the form of cleaner sidewalks and streets, but also redeemed at local businesses if you are one of our lucky winners!
August Update:
Thanks to Andy and Ben for loaning their company van to the Trash Mob! It arrived at our July Trash Mob emblazoned with our logo! Hilarious!
Remember, all you need to do is:
- SWEEP the litter in front of your home into a pile…
- E-MAIL us where your pile is by 10:30 AM (or that you don’t have any litter) and we’ll send the Hit Squad do pick it up and you’ll be entered to…
- WIN prizes from local favorites like Pig & Pepper, Union Republic, Hazel Baby, Hound about Town and more.

Shop Village: For over 100 years, small businesses have played a vital role in shaping the Village. The Village Neighborhood Association is committed to bringing awareness and support to those businesses that embrace the long-standing values and enduring community spirit of our neighborhood.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Small businesses of the Village unite to host in-store “Pop-up Shops” on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 1pm through 5pm at participating businesses. Each participating shop will have balloons outside. (See map below)
The “Pop-up Shops” event includes:
- Tea tasting at Tea NJ
- Radical Wellness’s Vibration Therapy & more at Gia Gelato
- Elhis Designs jewelry at Pig & Pepper with complimentary cold tea from Radical Wellness
- Free HEM Incense with your $10 purchase at Kasa Buddha
- Special outdoor table at Iris Records
- Art trivia & prizes at Raven Gallery & Boutique
- special prices for haircuts at Oma Duran Salon & Spa

We’re gearing up for our third Trash Mob on Saturday, July 26! As you can see from our last hit map (click here), The Village is getting serious about taking out the garbage!
